Reverse Vending Machines
Self-service, convenient locations. Payment types include donation, vouchers and electronic payments.
Reverse vending machines are self-service machines that you feed your containers into. The machine will then read the drink container barcode and either accept or reject the container based on its eligibility for a refund.

Depot
Refund point that is staffed and ideal for larger loads. Payment types include donation, cash and electronic payments.
At depots your drink containers are counted on the spot by an automated machine. Some depots also offer a convenient drive-through service or a bag drop service (for members).
Other ways to return
- Over the counter
In some areas, small businesses or other organisations provide an over the counter service. Your drink containers will be counted on the spot by staff. Payment types are typically donation, voucher or electronic payment.
- Donation point
Your local charity or community group might operate as a donation point so you can drop off your drink containers and donate to a cause that is important to you.

What is a bag drop?
Bag drops are available at certain depots as a convenient way to return your containers. They require a member number to process payment.
Save time by bagging up all your containers, and dropping them off at your local depot. You don’t need to wait while your containers recycled – our staff will take care of that for you. Your refund or donation will then appear on your Recycle Rewards app once the containers are counted.
