Anthony Cousins, owner of Hobart’s Boutique Espresso café, has been an avid supporter of Recycle Rewards since it began on 1 May.

Each week, Anthony donates containers from his café to one of his regular customers. “Some keep the refunds for themselves, others donate it to charity.”

This helps take care of some of the café’s rubbish. “We used to put our containers in the co-mingled recycling, but contamination is a big problem. By separating our containers at the source and returning them through Recycle Rewards, I’m confident these containers will become new recycled products.”

Storage is an important consideration for operators who produce a lot of containers daily. “We just added an extra bag for eligible containers under the counter and asked our staff to use it. “It’s just a small act, but over time it can make a big difference.”
