The New Norfolk refund point is the busiest outside a metropolitan area. It’s success? The local businesses leveraging the power of Recycle Rewards to drive down waste and recycling costs.

For Gretna Green Hotel owners Natasha and Bradley Woods, collecting their pub’s containers for return at the local refund point was a no-brainer – but it did require a bit of planning.

“You really need somewhere to store containers,” Brad advises. “We were lucky to have a bit of space in our storeroom to dedicate to recycling.”

Brad currently makes three trips to the refund point each week and has returned thousands of eligible containers since the scheme began.

Recycle Rewards has also impacted the business’s waste – in a positive way. “We’ve reduced our 240l co-mingled recycling bins from seven to just one, and our waste to landfill bins from three to two.
