David Foster and Recycle Rewards are on the lookout for the local legends who are making a big difference – returning thousands of eligible drink containers.
Local legend David Foster today joined Recycle Rewards in calling out for Tassie’s top returners.
“We know there are Tasmanians out there who are doing a legendary job at returning many thousands of containers to Recycle Rewards, helping to reduce litter and landfill. We have a list of the top returners, and we’re asking for these container champions to come forward and identify themselves so we can celebrate their efforts,” David Foster said.
“We can see from anonymised data from the Recycle Rewards app that the top three returners in Tasmania have returned 28,090, 17,150 and 16,856 containers each. We’d love to celebrate these container champions,” said TasRecycle CEO Ken Roughley.
“These are incredible results given Recycle Rewards is just four months old, and it’s what has helped make Tasmania the fastest growing container refund scheme in the country, and that’s worth celebrating.”
“If you can see that these are your return numbers in the Recycle Rewards app, or if you’ve also returned thousands of containers, please contact the team at recyclerewards@tasrecycle.com.au so we can crown you a container champion!” added David Foster.
Whether you’re a school group raising funds, a community club powering your projects, or an everyday Tasmanian who just loves doing the right thing for the environment, we want to hear from you.
Your story could inspire others to start collecting and recycling their eligible drink containers through Recycle Rewards. By sharing why you recycle – whether it’s for a cause, for cash or to clean up litter – you’ll help show the powerful impact that Tasmania’s container refund scheme is having in our communities.
Selected stories will be featured on here on Recycle Rewards’ website, social media channels and in local media – shining a spotlight on the champions behind Australia’s fastest growing container refund scheme.
